About
Founded in 2021, S U M A is a platform for both emerging and established artists, committed to presenting work beyond the walls of traditional exhibition spaces.
Our curatorial approach centers on storytelling—drawn to practices that carry narrative weight and spark dialogue. From sculptures grown from mycelium to works inspired by ancient Amazonian symbols, we seek pieces that resonate across time, place, and medium.
We’ve had the honor of collaborating with artists including Claudio Sodi, Gwladys Alonso, Fernanda Caballero, and Christian Abusaid. While rooted in Latin America, we also collaborate with global artists and designers whose work engages broader conversations.
The essence of the word S U M A, which translates to 'to add' in Spanish, embodies our core intent: to contribute meaningfully to the spaces we inhabit and the conversations we’re part of. We present curations that bring together distinct voices in art, design, and craft, grounded in the belief that each work adds something meaningful to our world.
